Right Form of Verbs 100% Solution

Rule 1. Try to understand the tense of the passage. If the passage is in the past tense, you may need to use the past form of the verb.


Rule 2: modal verb +verb1

can,could, may, might, shall, should, must, have to,has to , had to+ verb 1

Ex: He could ------(rode) a bicycle.

Ans: ride


Rule 3: In passive voice, use verb 3.

Ex: Sheikh Hasina (oust) on 5th August 2024.

Ans: was ousted

শেখ হাসিনাকে বিতাড়িত করা হয়েছিল আগস্ট ২০২৪


Rule 4: Present indefinite tense   He/she/it/singular noun থাকলেs/es যুক্ত  করতে হবে They, we, plural noun থাকলেs/es যুক্ত  করতে হবে না

He (go) to college daily.

Ans: goes


Rule 5: preposition+verb+ing

in, at, on, for, into,by, without, after, before+verb ing

By (work) hard, you can succeed.

Ans: working

 

 

Rule 6 .  Would rather +V1+than

Example: I would rather take coffee than tea.

আমি চা না খেয়ে কফি খাব

 

Rule 7. Had better+ V1

Example: You had better (concentrated) on your study.

Ans: concentrate

তুমি বরং লেখাপড়ায় মনোযোগ দাও

 

 

Rule 8:Would you mind + ing with the verb?

Example: Would you mind opening the door?

তুমি কি দরজাটি খুলবে?


Rule 9: Lest নতুবা + subject+ should/might+V1

Example: Read attentively lest you should fail.

Do exercise regularly lest you should fall sick.

Walk slowly lest you should stumble.

Walk fast lest you should miss the train.


Rule 10.Cannot help/could not help+ ing with the verb

Example: I cannot help laughing.

মি না হেসে পারি না


Rule 11: Get +something+ past participle

Example: I got the rice cooked.

আমি ভাত রান্না করে নিয়েছিলাম

I got the house painted.

I got the job done.

I got the sum done.


Rule 12.Sub+ get+ person+to+v1

I got Purnima to cook my rice.

I got Purnima to mop my floor.

I got Jolekha to fry brinjal.


Rule 13: Look forward to /with a view to+ verb+ing

Examples:

a)      I look forward to hearing from you.

আমি তোমার কখা শোনার অপেক্ষায় আছি

b)      I went to market with a view to buying some vegetables.


Rule 14: No sooner had+ subject + v3+ object + than subject+v2

Example: No sooner had the teacher entered the class than the students stood up.

Scarcely had the thief seen the police when he ran away.


Rule15. As soon as + Sub+v2, sub+v2

As soon as I saw him, I called him.


Rule 16:.First Condition

If +present Indefinite, sub +will/can/may + verb 1

If he works hard, he will prosper in life.


Rule 17. Second Condition

If + Past Indefinite, Sub+ would/could/might+v1

If he worked hard, he would prosper in life.


Rule 18. Third Condition:

If past perfect+sub+would have/could have/might have +v3

If he had worked hard, he would have prospered in life.


Rule 19.It is time/it is high time+ sub+ v2

It is high time I went to school.

It is high time I took my breakfast.


Rule 20. Present Indefinite tense

He/she/it = s/es

The sun rises in the east.

The moon gives us light.

Jerry sees his mother every summer.


Rule 21. yesterday, ago, last week, once upon a time=past indefinite

I saw a nice bird yesterday.

He invited me last week.


Rule 22. Wish /fancy = past indefinite

I fancy I turned pale.

If I were a millionaire.


Rule 23. Sub+used to+verb1

He used to play football before marriage.

 I used to swim in the pond when I was at home.


Rule 24. be/get+ used to + verb+ing

He is used to singing on the stage.


Rule 25. While/when + past continuous, past indefinite

While she was taking breakfast, the phone rang.

When he was sleeping, the phone rang.
